U.S. President Donald Trump has set his sights on Cuba. Claiming that Cuba will fall, Trump said, "We will take action regarding Cuba very soon."
US President Donald Trump made a striking statement regarding Cuba at a press conference held at the White House. Trump, who claimed they were doing well on the Cuba issue, said they would take action.
TRUMP: WE WILL TAKE STEPS REGARDING CUBA
Trump stated, "We will take steps regarding Cuba very soon." In a statement he made yesterday, Trump had said that Cuba, which he had been increasing economic sanctions against for a while, would "fall very soon." Praising his successes in his second term, Trump said, "Cuba will also fall very soon. They are eager to make a deal."
In his speech, where Trump mentioned that he would involve Secretary of State Marco Rubio in the negotiation process with the Cubans, he conveyed that they were currently "focused" on this issue.
CUBA HAS FALLEN INTO MY ARMS
Trump, who said, "I have been waiting for this moment for 50 years. And now (Cuba) has fallen into my arms," had evaluated that they were "making very good progress" on this issue. The US President had stated a day earlier in a statement at the White House that it was "just a matter of time" for American Cubans to return home.
Claiming that the attacks on Iran were "successful," Trump had stated that the Tehran administration would "give up" and then said, "Cuba will also fall."
US OIL BLOCKADE ON CUBA
On January 30, Trump signed a presidential decree that foresees the imposition of customs duties on all goods coming from countries that sell or supply oil to Cuba. The White House argued that this decision aimed to protect US national security and foreign policy interests against Cuba's "harmful actions and policies."
On February 1, Trump announced that negotiations had begun regarding the regulation of oil supply with the Cuban administration, while Cuba denied this.
