U.S. President Trump called on Iran to be "more reasonable" ahead of the second round of negotiation talks taking place today in Geneva between the U.S. and Iran, stating, "I don't think they want to see the consequences of not making a deal; I think they want to make a deal."
US President Trump evaluated the agenda for the press while returning from Florida, where he spent his holiday, to Washington.
"I AM CLOSELY MONITORING THE PROCESS"
Referring to the second round of negotiation talks with Iran to be held in Geneva today, Trump stated that he is closely monitoring the process and will participate indirectly in the talks.
"IRAN IS A VERY TOUGH NEGOTIATOR"
Commenting on the negotiations, "These talks will be very important. We will see what happens. Iran is generally a very tough negotiator," Trump said, adding, "I hope they will be more reasonable. I don't think they want to see the consequences of not making a deal; I believe they want to make a deal."
"THEY DID NOT MAKE A DEAL WHEN THERE WERE OPPORTUNITIES"
Stating that Iran did not make a deal when it had the opportunity before and that they had to send B-2 planes in return, the US President noted that they will not allow Iran to have nuclear weapon potential.
"PEACE WILL PREVAIL ALL OVER THE WORLD"
On the other hand, Trump indicated that many leaders will come together under the Gaza Peace Council at a meeting to be held in Washington this week, saying, "All world leaders will come together. They are investing a tremendous amount of money, and I think this will go far beyond Gaza. I believe peace will prevail all over the world."
"WE ARE WORKING WITH THE UN"
Stating that they are working with the United Nations (UN) in this process, Trump said, "The UN has not fully realized its potential. However, they can help us a little, but the world's greatest leaders are participating in the Peace Council. We will see if we can mobilize the UN."
