It has been claimed that the critical summit held by US President Donald Trump in the White House Situation Room to make a final decision on the negotiation process with Iran yielded no result. In a report by The New York Times citing senior officials, it was stated that Trump left the two-hour meeting without making a decision. In response to Trump's conditions regarding uranium disposal and the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's Foreign Ministry reacted by saying, "The West has no right to dictate to us."
No result came from the critical meeting held by US President Donald Trump at the White House to make the final decision regarding the negotiation process with Iran. The New York Times, one of the leading American media outlets, claimed that Trump left the table without making any decision on the draft agreement after a two-hour meeting with his aides in the Situation Room. The Iranian side, however, reacted harshly to Trump's conditions.
TWO HOURS OF SILENCE IN THE SITUATION ROOM
According to insider information from The New York Times, citing a senior US official, President Donald Trump gathered his advisors at the White House to evaluate the draft agreement expected to be reached with Iran. After the meeting, which was described as highly tense and lasted approximately two hours, Trump left the room without reaching a final decision. The White House refrained from making an official statement regarding this uncertainty and the details of the meeting.
TRUMP'S HEAVY CONDITIONS: WE WILL EXTRACT AND DESTROY THE URANIUM
Before the meeting, Trump issued what amounted to an ultimatum via his social media account, listing Washington's red lines at the table with the following harsh items:
Nuclear Weapons Ban: Iran must unequivocally commit to not possessing nuclear weapons.
Strait of Hormuz: The Strait of Hormuz will be fully opened to international maritime traffic without any toll fees. In return, the US will lift its blockade of Iranian ports.
Seizure of Uranium: All of Iran's enriched uranium underground will be extracted by the US itself, and these nuclear materials will be destroyed.
IRAN'S VERY STRONG RESPONSE: "YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO USE SUCH LANGUAGE"
The Tehran administration, deeming Trump's negotiation terms as completely domineering, promptly countered. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Baghai harshly criticized the US President's statements, saying:
"Westerners absolutely have no right to use a dictating language towards us, saying 'it should be this way, it should be that way.'"
The lack of a result from the critical summit is interpreted as a sign that the nuclear and economic tension between the two countries will continue to escalate for some time.
"SANCTIONS WILL BE LIFTED SLOWLY"
Meanwhile, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent made a statement regarding developments between the US and Iran at the Reagan National Economic Forum he attended.
Bessent answered a question about lifting sanctions on Iran and the blockade of Iranian ports. Bessent noted that the withdrawal of sanctions on Iran would occur gradually. In response to a question about lifting the blockade, Bessent said, "Any sanctions that are lifted will be lifted slowly."
Bessent also announced that, within the scope of the economic campaign led by President Donald Trump against Iran, $1 billion worth of crypto assets linked to Iran had been seized.
In a statement made today, US President Donald Trump said regarding plans to lift the US blockade of Iranian ports, "Ships stranded in the strait due to our naval blockade to be lifted can now begin the process of 'returning home.'"
