US President Donald Trump targeted Mount Kazma, which is allegedly linked to Iran's nuclear program, and announced that they could strike the region "very soon." Saying, "If there is any activity on Mount Kazma, we can strike it very soon," Trump claimed that the US is closely tracking individuals moving across Iran.

REFUSED TO SAY "WAR": A SMALL MATTER FOR US
Asked whether the conflict with Iran could be considered a war, Trump said he preferred to describe the events as a "military conflict." Trump stated, "Many people are not calling it a war. I call it a military conflict because it is a small matter for us. It is not a big thing."
Stating that the US has carried out "intermittent attacks" against Iran, Trump argued that before the latest strike targeting Iran's radar systems, there had been no active fighting for several days. "We are not fighting right now. There is no conflict," Trump said, adding that the US controls traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and conducts strikes on Iran's military capabilities.
"STRAIT OF HORMUZ" CLAIM
Trump alleged that US forces destroyed Iranian radars, aircraft, and other systems protecting the Strait of Hormuz.
Claiming that mines in the strait were also cleared by minesweepers, Trump asserted that the US has prevented Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Trump said, "They will not have a nuclear weapon. That is what we did."
Stating that the US intervention protects Israel and the broader Middle East, Trump said, "Iran will not have a nuclear weapon because if they did, you probably wouldn't be standing here longer."
"WE CAN HIT MOUNT KAZMA VERY SOON"
Trump also made a striking statement regarding a potential strike on the Mount Kazma region in Iran. Stating that the US is closely monitoring individuals moving in the region and across Iran, Trump said, "If there is any activity on Mount Kazma, we can hit it very soon." Trump also alleged that the US knows "everyone moving" on Mount Kazma and in different parts of Iran.
"WE HAVE ALREADY WON THE BIG ISSUE"
Without giving a specific date for when the conflict would end, Trump argued that the US has largely achieved its main objective. Trump said, "We have already won the big issue: There will be no nuclear weapon."
Claiming that even if the US immediately withdrew from Iran, it would take 25 years for the country to recover, Trump said, "Even if we withdrew immediately, it would take them 25 years to rebuild their country."
WHY MOUNT KAZMA?
Mount Kazma is located one and a half kilometers from the Natanz Nuclear Plant. The mountain's most important feature is its hard granite structure. Iran is alleged to have excavated beneath the mountain to depths of 80 to 100 meters. The mountain's total depth is reported to reach up to 600 meters.
It is stated that excavation work inside the mountain was first planned in 2007, but systematic digging began in 2020.
It is claimed that Iran moved its critical centrifuges into Mount Kazma, which is very close to Natanz, to secure them after sabotage actions carried out at the Natanz Nuclear Plant in 2020 and 2021.
Indeed, it is noted that even the most advanced bunker-buster bombs cannot penetrate the inner sections of the mountain due to its granite structure.
Ali Akbar Salehi, Iran's former head of the Atomic Energy Organization, also announced that after its Natanz Nuclear Plant was damaged in 2020 and 2021, moving the centrifuges was on the agenda to prevent the disruption of the production chain, and that they would be placed inside a mountain related to the matter.
Although Salehi did not name the region where the centrifuges would be moved, comments were made that they were moved into Mount Kazma rather than a distant location, to prevent the disruption of the production chain.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also stated during the 12-day war that a third Iranian nuclear facility was damaged, and that this facility near Isfahan had not yet become operational at the time of the strike.
Comments were also made that Araghchi's statements strengthened claims that the new plant was being established deep within Mount Kazma.
