Trump stated, "We are in a very good position regarding Ukraine and Russia. We have spoken with President (Vladimir) Putin and President (Volodymyr) Zelensky, and we really want to see this war come to an end, and we are doing quite well on that front."

Indicating that they are in a good position regarding the rare earth elements agreement with Ukraine, Trump said, "We will sign a rare earth elements agreement with Ukraine in a short period of time."
WHAT HAPPENED?
During a meeting held in the Oval Office on February 28, there was a discussion between US President Trump, who criticized Zelensky as a "dictator who does not hold elections," and Ukrainian President Zelensky, leading to the cancellation of a previously planned joint press conference, after which Zelensky left the White House. While Trump criticized the Ukrainian leader's stance, Zelensky expressed his expectation for support for his country. The rare earth elements agreement that was announced to be signed following the discussion was also not signed.
