Turkey announced that it will not join the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB) to be established in Canada. The decision was made as a result of evaluations by the relevant ministries.
Turkey has decided not to join the newly established Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB), headquartered in Canada.
8 COUNTRIES HAVE PLEDGED TO JOIN
According to information obtained from the Ministry of National Defence; Turkey will not join the Canada-based bank, which has received pledges of participation from Canada, Albania, Belgium, Greece, Latvia, Luxembourg, Romania, and Ukraine.
PURPOSE OF THE INITIATIVE
The bank in question is designed as a multilateral institution that will provide long-term financing opportunities to companies, particularly SMEs, in the defence sector.
WE ARE NOT JOINING THIS INITIATIVE AT THIS STAGE
Following negotiations held in Montreal, Canada, it was learned that after evaluations involving representatives from the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, and the Presidency of Defence Industries, a decision was made not to commit to joining the bank at this stage.
