Communications Director Burhanettin Duran condemned the European Parliament's resolution on Cyprus, which contains unfounded allegations against the Turkish Armed Forces. Duran stated that the attempt disregarding the legitimate rights of the TRNC has no validity, and emphasized that Turkey will continue to defend the rights and law of the Turkish Cypriot people.

Communications Director Burhanettin Duran said, "We find the decision adopted by the European Parliament regarding Cyprus, which contains baseless allegations against our heroic Turkish Armed Forces, unacceptable and condemn it in the strongest terms."

Communications Director Duran stated in his post on social media, "I find the decision adopted by the European Parliament regarding Cyprus, which contains baseless allegations against our heroic Turkish Armed Forces, unacceptable and condemn it in the strongest terms. This politically motivated initiative, which approaches the Cyprus issue with a biased understanding and ignores the legitimate rights of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the Turkish Cypriot people, has no validity or value.

"TURKEY; HAS BEEN THE GUARANTOR OF THE EXISTENCE AND FUTURE OF THE TURKISH CYPRIOT PEOPLE"

Under the leadership of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkey will resolutely continue its support for the sovereign equality and equal international status of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus; and will continue to defend the rights and law of the Turkish Cypriot people on every platform. Our heroic Turkish Armed Forces brought peace and security to the island with the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation; Turkey has been the guarantor of the existence and future of the Turkish Cypriot people. No decision taken with political motives can change this truth, nor overshadow Turkey's determined stance on the Cyprus cause."
