Turkish Airlines To Buy 4 A330-200 Aircraft From Airbus

Turkish Airlines, the country's flag carrier, said on Monday it intends to purchase 4 A330-200F aircraft from European manufacturer Airbus.



According to a statement published on the Public Disclosure Platform of Borsa Istanbul, Turkish Airlines decided to order the four cargo aircraft to be delivered between April of this year and January 2017 to Turkish Cargo.



Turkish Cargo, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, has been growing in step with Turkish Airlines in recent years.



Turkish Cargo provides efficient connections to the leading production and commercial centers across the globe, with more than 260 destinations in 108 countries. It is currently served by nine freighters with 48 destinations and 253 passenger airplanes.



Turkish Cargo raised its cargo and mail shipment volumes to 567.771 tons in 2013 from 469.036 in tons in 2012.
