In phone call, Fuat Oktay, Pham Minh Chinh also discuss fight against FETO terror group.

Turkey's Vice President Fuat Oktay on Tuesday spoke with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh over the phone and discussed trade, tourism, and the fight against Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO).

FETO and its US-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, in which 251 people were killed and 2,734 wounded.

Stressing that Turkey supports many countries during the coronavirus pandemic, Oktay said Ankara will provide Vietnam with 200,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses, 10 ventilators, 10 patient monitors, 20,000 N95 masks, 4,000 overalls, and 100,000 PCR test kits.

Oktay said that they think a Free Trade Agreement between Turkey and Vietnam would be beneficial for both countries.

Reminding that the last meeting of the Joint Economic Commission (JEC) between the two countries was held in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi, he said that the date and agenda-setting efforts for the next JEC meeting in Turkey were being carried out by the relevant ministries.

The Vietnamese premier invited Oktay to visit his country, while the Turkish vice president said he would be please to host Chinh in Turkey.
