In Samsun, two 13-year-old girls lost their lives after being hit by a truck while returning home from a walk. Tears flowed at the funerals of the girls, while the 19-year-old driver responsible for the accident was arrested and sent to prison.
Yesterday at around 20:30, a pickup truck driven by Sultan Ahmet Y. (19) hit Rabia Kaynar (13) and Elifnaz Aslan (13) who were trying to cross the road at the Atatürk Boulevard Gar Junction in the İlkadım district of Samsun. The children, who were seriously injured, were taken to Gazi State Hospital by ambulance, but despite all interventions, they could not be saved. Their lifeless bodies were handed over to their families after the autopsy.
TEARS FLOWED AT THE FUNERAL
Forgiveness was sought in front of the houses of Rabia and Elifnaz in the İlyasköy and Bahçelievler neighborhoods for the 8th-grade students of Gülsüm Sami Kefeli Middle School. Tears flowed at the funerals of the children. Relatives and neighbors of Rabia and Elifnaz could not hold back their tears.
ACCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE RETURNING HOME AFTER A WALK
Elifnaz's mother, Yasemin Aslan, stated that the vehicle hit them while they were crossing the road after returning home from a walk with her daughter and her friend.
19-YEAR-OLD DRIVER ARRESTED
After the accident, the driver Sultan Ahmet Y. was detained by the police and was transferred to the Samsun Courthouse today. After giving a statement to the duty court, Sultan Ahmet Y. was arrested and sent to prison.
