Bülent Şen, racing against time to get his friend who had a heart attack to the hospital, collapsed and died in the hospital garden while waiting for good news. Two beloved tradesmen of Manisa passed away about 15 minutes apart, ending their years-long friendship on the same day.
In Manisa, tradesmen Coşkun Burlu (52) and his close friend Bülent Şen (54), known for their long-standing friendship, died approximately 15 minutes apart due to heart attacks. Şen's efforts to save his friend and his subsequent collapse in the hospital garden caused great sorrow in the city.
HE MADE INTENSE EFFORTS TO SAVE HIS FRIEND The incident occurred the previous night around 01:00. Coşkun Burlu, feeling unwell, called his close friend Bülent Şen and asked for help to be taken to the hospital. Şen quickly arrived at his friend's side and, seeing Burlu's condition deteriorate, notified the 112 emergency services. Until the medical team arrived, Şen performed CPR on his friend, making great efforts to keep Burlu alive.
Coşkun Burlu CLOSE FRIENDS DIED 15 MINUTES APART Coşkun Burlu, revived by CPR, was taken to Merkezefendi State Hospital by ambulance. Bülent Şen, who followed his friend to the hospital, collapsed while waiting for good news in front of the emergency room. Taken to the emergency room on a stretcher by medical teams, Şen could not be saved despite all interventions. The loss of the two close friends within approximately 15 minutes plunged their loved ones into mourning.
Bülent Şen "WE COULD NOT SAVE EITHER" Chief Physician of Merkezefendi State Hospital, Specialist Dr. Fatma Neslim Yağlı, described the tragic incident with these words: "First, Coşkun Burlu was brought to our hospital by ambulance around 01:30. While his intervention was ongoing in the emergency room, we received information about a fainting case in the garden. When we went to the scene, we learned that the person who had fainted was Coşkun Burlu's close friend Bülent Şen. Both friends were simultaneously attempted to be revived in the red zone, but unfortunately, despite all interventions, we lost both. We offer condolences to their families."
THEY WERE BIDDED FAREWELL ON THEIR FINAL JOURNEY FROM THE SAME MOSQUE A funeral ceremony was held at Hatuniye Mosque for Coşkun Burlu and Bülent Şen, both married and fathers of two children each. The ceremony was attended by Manisa Union of Chambers of Tradesmen President Hasan Geriter, Manisa Tradesmen and Craftsmen Credit and Guarantee Cooperative President Destan Bulgay, chamber presidents, members of the education community, relatives, and many citizens.
Speaking before the afternoon prayer, Imam Adem Karakuş said, "The deceased Bülent Şen struggled to help his closest friend, the deceased Coşkun Burlu. He could not bear his pain. May Allah treat these two brothers, who loved each other so much in this world, with His mercy."
After the funeral prayer, performed amidst the tears of the crowd filling the mosque courtyard, the bodies of the two close friends were carried on shoulders and laid to rest in Kırtık Cemetery.
