The details of a betting operation targeting managers working in professional leagues affiliated with the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) have come to light. In the investigation, which involves 19 managers from 13 different clubs, the number of coupons placed by two Beşiktaş managers against their own team and on goal bets reached 2,500.

The details of the illegal betting and match-fixing operation, conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and deeply shaking Turkish football, have been shocking.

In the process that began with the examination of official betting platform data from 2020-2026 and reports from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), legal proceedings were initiated against 19 club executives. During the organized operations, 17 suspects were taken into custody, while efforts continue to capture the 2 suspects who are at large.

STRIKING FIGURES: A TOTAL OF 3,417 SUSPICIOUS BETTING SLIPS

In the report prepared by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the total number of betting slips placed by the suspicious executives during their tenure, involving their own clubs' matches in favor of the opposing team or regarding goal counts (over/under), was jaw-dropping. According to the findings, it was determined that the 19 executives named in the list carried out a total of 3,417 suspicious betting transactions via legal betting platforms.

INCREDIBLE NUMBERS FROM BEŞİKTAŞ EXECUTIVES

The most striking part of the investigation file was the betting statistics of executives who served at Beşiktaş Gymnastics Club. The number of betting slips played by the executives revealed that they were virtually betting addicts.

It was found that Tolga Kırgız alone placed 1,488 suspicious slips on his own team's matches and in favor of the opposing team, while another executive, Kerem Gürel, placed 996. The report also indicated that a third Beşiktaş executive, Ahmet Akçelik, played 53 betting slips.
