Konya Selçuklu District Municipality made meaningful two openings on April 7, World Health Day, by adding new investments in the field of health.
The Selçuklu Municipality continues its investments in the health sector, strengthening the health infrastructure of the district. Having signed important projects in this area, Selçuklu Municipality recently brought the second example of the First Step Midwife School, which is a model for Turkey, along with the Community Mental Health Center and the Healthy Life Center to the district. In this context, the Minister of Health, Kemal Memişoğlu, who came to Konya, participated in the Family Gathering of the First Step Midwife School and inaugurated two important health facilities implemented by Selçuklu Municipality.
"A STRONG FAMILY STRUCTURE WILL BE ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT OUTCOMES OF THIS PROJECT"
Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı recalled that they launched the first implementation of the First Step Midwife School project, conducted under the patronage of the First Lady Emine Erdoğan, in 2019, stating, “So far, thousands of expectant mothers have received services from our school, and with the support of our trainers, they have completed both their pregnancy and birth processes in the healthiest way. Healthy pregnancy, healthy birth, and healthy children, along with a strong family structure, will be one of the most important outcomes of this project. Together with our Provincial Health Directorate, we have reorganized our Mahperi Hatun Social Facility located in Işıklar Neighborhood, converting the ground floor into a Healthy Life Center and the first floor into the Mahperi Hatun First Step Midwife School. Our Mahperi Hatun First Step Midwife School will make significant contributions to the dissemination of this important process in our Konya. May it be beneficial for our city, our district, and our families,” he said.
"WE ARE DETERMINED TO CONTINUE OUR WORK SO THAT OUR CITIZENS CAN ACCESS PRIMARY HEALTH SERVICES"
On April 7, World Health Day, Mayor Pekyatırmacı noted that presenting valuable investments to service has a special meaning and value, stating, “As Selçuklu Municipality, we are determined to continue our efforts so that all our citizens can access primary health services in the fastest, safest, and highest quality way. In this context, we have inaugurated 10 Family Health Centers, 4 Emergency Health Services Stations, and 1 GETAT center in our district over the last 7 years. Additionally, there are 6 Family Health Centers and 1 Emergency Health Services Station under construction and in the project phase. This valuable investment we have inaugurated is a concrete manifestation of this understanding. This health facility, consisting of two separate sections as the Community Mental Health Center and the Healthy Life Center, offers a holistic approach to both physical and mental health. With the inauguration of this health facility, we are collectively presenting a comprehensive health vision that touches every stage of life. On this occasion, I would like to express my gratitude to our Minister of Health, Mr. Kemal Memişoğlu, for his contributions to health investments in our Konya; to our Provincial Health Directorate, with whom we collaborated in realizing this valuable investment; and to all health workers, engineers, colleagues, and everyone who contributed,” he stated.
MINISTER MEMİŞOĞLU: THE CESAREAN RATE IN KONYA HAS DROPPED TO 30%
Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu stated that the First Step Midwife School Project is one of the positive examples of training for expectant mothers in the field, saying, “Today, the cesarean rate among our expectant mothers involved in the training processes we conduct in Konya has dropped to 30%. This rate is a picture that should serve as an example for all of Turkey. I thank everyone who contributed to the realization of this beautiful project,” he expressed.
"OUR HEALTHY LIFE CENTER AND COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH CENTER ARE AMONG THE MOST VALUABLE PARTS OF THE HEALING CHAIN" Stating that they have further expanded preventive medicine and primary health services, which are the cornerstones of the health system, in line with the goals of a Healthy Turkey Century, Minister Memişoğlu said, “As the hallmarks of our service policy, we continue to present new centers and facilities to the service of our nation every day. Today, our Healthy Life Center and Community Mental Health Center, which we inaugurated in Konya, are among the most valuable parts of this healing chain. I sincerely thank Selçuklu Municipality for building this valuable work and showcasing our understanding of municipal services in the best way in Konya. I wish our health facilities to be beneficial for our country, our nation, and our Konya,” he stated.
After the prayers and ribbon cutting, Minister Memişoğlu and the accompanying delegation inspected both centers.
