In the Bornova district of İzmir, Syrian nationals Osman Hacıali and his friend Muhammed Ahmed, who were on an electric bicycle, lost their lives in a collision with a pickup truck. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
Two people lost their lives in a collision involving a pickup truck and an electric bicycle in the Bornova district of İzmir.
The accident occurred yesterday around 19:00 on Gökdere Street. The pickup truck with license plate 55 AEZ 460, driven by E.G., collided with the electric bicycle ridden by 37-year-old Osman Hacıali, who was coming from the opposite direction. As a result of the collision, Hacıali and the passenger behind him, Muhammed Ahmed (46), were injured. Health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification.
PICKUP DRIVER IN CUSTODY
It was determined during the investigation that Hacıali died at the scene. Muhammed Ahmed, who was severely injured and taken to Ege University Medical Faculty Hospital by ambulance, could not be saved despite all interventions. The pickup driver, E.G., was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams, and an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
