PRISONERS WERE HANDED OVER NEAR YAHYA SINWAR'S HOUSE
Israeli male prisoners Alexander Sasha Troufanov, Sagui Dekel-Chen, and Yair Horn were handed over to Red Cross teams near the house of Yahya Sinwar, one of Hamas's slain leaders, in the city of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip.
It is known that prisoner Sagui Dekel-Chen is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Israel, while Alexander Sasha Troufanov is a dual citizen of Russia and Israel.
With the release of 3 Israeli prisoners in the sixth round, the total number of Israeli prisoners released from the Gaza Strip has risen to 19.
369 PALESTINIANS RELEASED
In exchange for the 3 Israeli prisoners released, 369 Palestinian prisoners were released today. The Palestinians were welcomed with great enthusiasm in Ramallah in the West Bank.
Of the 369 Palestinian prisoners, 36 were sentenced to life imprisonment, and 333 were among those detained in the Gaza Strip after October 7, 2023.
KASSAM BRIGADES SENT A MESSAGE TO U.S. PRESIDENT TRUMP
In the sixth round of the prisoner exchange, Hamas's armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, sent a message against U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to forcibly displace Palestinians in Gaza.
In the images displayed on the platform set up in Khan Younis, emphasis was placed on "resistance to liberate Palestine," along with flags of some Arab states.
CEASEFIRE AND PRISONER EXCHANGE AGREEMENT
The ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement reached between Hamas and Israel came into effect on Sunday, January 19, at 12:15 PM Turkish time.
As part of the agreement, on Monday, January 27, the Netzarim Corridor was opened for the passage of Palestinians from south to north in the Gaza Strip, and the Israeli army withdrew from the Netzarim Corridor on February 9.
The Rafah Border Gate between the Gaza Strip and Egypt was opened on February 1 for the evacuation of the sick and injured after the Israeli army's 8-month occupation.
In the first five rounds of the prisoner exchange, 766 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons were released along with 16 Israelis and 5 Thais in Gaza.
According to the ceasefire agreement, which will consist of three phases, a total of over 1,900 Palestinian prisoners and 33 Israeli prisoners are expected to be released in the first phase, which lasts 42 days.
