An unmanned aerial vehicle, believed to have crashed in the morning hours in the İlkadım district of Samsun, caused panic in the neighborhood. While material damage occurred in 3 houses in the incident, police teams launched an investigation in the area.
In the İlkadım district of Samsun, an unmanned aerial vehicle fell in the middle of the street. It is being investigated who flew the shattered device and for what purpose.
FELL WITH A LOUD NOISE
According to the information obtained, the incident occurred in the early morning hours around 6:30 in the İlkadım district. Residents who woke up to a loud noise initially thought it was a natural gas explosion. Following the noise, it was observed that windows of some nearby houses were broken and material damage occurred.
TEAMS WERE DISPATCHED
Upon citizens' reports, police, health, and fire department teams were dispatched to the scene. Teams taking security measures in the area collected pieces of the unmanned aerial vehicle, which was estimated to weigh about 25 kilograms. It was learned that no injuries occurred in the incident.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
While residents experienced brief panic due to the incident, it was reported that police teams launched an investigation. The unmanned aerial vehicle, which has a wingspan of about 1 meter and a separate tail piece, will have its affiliation and cause of the fall clarified after a technical examination.
Describing the incident, resident Fatma Çakır said, "I heard an explosion sound and got scared. I have panic attacks. I immediately went to the window. I looked outside and saw smoke coming from the building across. We thought it was a natural gas explosion. It made a very strange sound. We were very scared."
