An attack on a mosque affiliated with DITIB in Memmingen, a city in Germany's Bavaria state, has sparked outrage. It was reported that during the night-time incident, the mosque's entrance was smeared with blood, a pig's head was placed on the crescent symbol, and the attackers fled the scene. A mosque affiliated with the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs (DİTİB) in the city of Memmingen, in the Bavarian state of Germany, was attacked by unidentified person or persons. In the incident, the mosque's entrance was desecrated with blood, and a pig's head was placed on the crescent symbol on a marble wall.

ATTACK IN THE NIGHTTIME HOURS

According to a statement from the police, the attack occurred around 04:30 local time. It was stated that the approximately 1.5-meter-high marble wall at the top of the mosque was damaged.

In the statement, it was expressed that the attackers threw balloons likely filled with animal blood at the entrance door, and then placed a severed pig's head on the crescent symbol. It was reported that the suspects fled the scene after the attack.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

It was conveyed that evidence collection efforts have been initiated following the incident, and the investigation is being conducted by the Federal Criminal Police Office. The area was cleaned by the Memmingen Fire Department and municipal teams.
