A new exchange of bodies took place for soldiers killed in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Russia handed over 501 bodies, said to belong to Ukrainian soldiers, to Ukraine, while Russian media reported that Moscow also received the remains of 31 Russian soldiers.
The Coordination Center for the Treatment of Ukrainian Prisoners of War announced a new exchange of bodies related to soldiers who lost their lives in the Russia-Ukraine war.
According to a statement on the center's social media account, the Russian side handed over 501 bodies, stated to belong to Ukrainian soldiers, to Ukraine.
IDENTIFICATION EFFORTS HAVE BEGUN
The statement reported that necessary examination and identification efforts have been initiated to determine the identities of the received bodies.
Ukraine also thanked the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for its support in the body repatriation process.
RUSSIA RECEIVED 31 BODIES BACK
According to reports in the Russian press, as part of the body exchange, Russia handed over the bodies of 501 soldiers to Ukraine, while receiving the bodies of 31 Russian soldiers in return.
