ATTACKED WHILE TALKING ON THE PHONE BY A PERSON HE DID NOT KNOW

According to the information obtained, Edip Sağlam (60) got on his motorcycle to go home after closing his workplace. At that moment, Edip Sağlam, who was talking on the phone with someone who called him on his mobile phone while on his parked motorcycle, noticed someone attacking him from behind. Sağlam, who fought back against the attacker, then got off the motorcycle and started to chase the attacker. After receiving two knife blows, Sağlam collapsed to the ground after a while, and the neighborhood residents called the 112 Emergency Call Center for help.

SURRENDERED SAYING "GAME OVER" WHEN HE SAW THE POLICE

Upon the report, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. After the initial intervention of the health teams at the scene, Edip Sağlam was taken to Kumluca State Hospital by ambulance. Police teams started an operation to catch İ.Y., who fled after the incident. Police teams searching in İ.Y.'s escape direction blocked the person's path near Kumluca Tower. After resisting the police for a while, İ.Y. dropped the knife and surrendered, saying "Game over".

İ.Y., who was taken into custody and brought to the police station, was referred to the court after his statement procedures. İ.Y., who was learned to have a 40 percent mental disability, was sent to a well-equipped hospital in Adana for his treatment.

THE SHOPKEEPER DESCRIBED THE HORROR HE EXPERIENCED

Sağlam, who said he was suddenly attacked while talking on the phone, said; "It was Sunday, I closed my shop and got on the motorcycle. While getting on the motorcycle, I had a phone conversation. During the conversation, I suddenly felt someone poking me from behind. I thought he was punching me. He was speaking with some profanity. When I turned my face and looked, I realized he had a butcher knife in his hand. He was attacking me. I tried to fight back. Then I chased him for a while. After that, I fell to the ground due to blood loss. Then the neighbors called an ambulance. The ambulance came and took me away. After they took me to the hospital by ambulance, X-rays were taken. Eight stitches were placed on my waist and hip."

ATTACKER'S FATHER CAME FOR A VISIT, SAĞLAM WAS NOT THE FIRST

Sağlam, who said that the father of the person who attacked him came to his house for a visit after his hospital treatment, said, "Today, the father of the young man who attacked me came to our house, he is a construction worker. He told me, 'My son is mentally disabled; they put him in jail several times. They released him again. Brother Edip, I apologize to you. You are not the only one he has hit.' I said, 'Am I not the first person?' He said, 'No, you are the third person.' 'He attacked one person in Elazığ. The man stayed in the hospital for 2 months. After that, he attacked a barber in Kumluca.' I told him, 'Take him away, lock him up and never release him again. You release him every time. He goes and stabs an innocent person'" he said.

"WHEN THEY RELEASE HIM, HE WILL STAB SOMEONE AGAIN"

Stating that the attacker's father apologized to him, Sağlam said, "Why are they releasing him? He will go and stay for a while. He will get treatment. He will get out. Will he stab someone again? That's enough. Let him stay inside for a long time. When they release him after 20 days and he stabs someone again, whose conscience will ache? Who will be responsible for it? Does someone have to die? The doctors say I would have died if he had stabbed a little more. They should either take him and treat him well, or not release him. When he gets out, let him not come across an innocent person. This is our request. We have no other intention," he said.

SURRENDERED SAYING "GAME OVER"

Ömer Faruk Sağlam, the son of the stabbed Edip Sağlam, said; "After the incident, we informed the police. The police determined that he fled towards the Tower. Then we caught him by blocking his path at the Tower. He resisted the police in the same way. The police neutralized him after a long process. The attacker then put the knife on the ground. He said 'Game Over' and surrendered. We experienced such a bad event," he said.
