In a statement from the United States, it was claimed that the operation against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife was carried out to support the criminal prosecution related to the drug crisis and associated crimes, stating, "The U.S. has considered all legal options to resolve this issue peacefully. These opportunities have been rejected repeatedly. The responsibility for this outcome lies with those who prefer to continue their criminal activities rather than cease them."
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) made a joint statement regarding the operation against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife.
"THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE LED THE EXTRAORDINARY EFFORT"
In a statement shared by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi on the social media platform X, it was emphasized that a complex law enforcement mission aimed at bringing Maduro to justice in the U.S. was successfully completed, stating, "This operation required months of coordination among many federal government units, detailed planning, and flawless execution. The U.S. Department of Defense led this extraordinary effort. We cannot thank our brave and heroic military personnel enough."
"THE OPERATION WAS CARRIED OUT PERFECTLY"
The statement reported that all personnel involved in the operation adhered strictly to U.S. laws and established protocols in a professional and determined manner, stating, "This was an operation that was executed perfectly, based on intense collaboration and trust among President Donald Trump's team."
"THE OPPORTUNITIES WE GAVE MADURO WERE REPEATEDLY REJECTED"
The statement argued that the operation was carried out to support the criminal prosecution related to the drug crisis that fuels violence, undermines regional stability, and costs American lives, stating, "The U.S. considered every legal option to resolve this issue peacefully. These opportunities were repeatedly rejected. The responsibility for this outcome lies with those who chose to continue their criminal activities instead of ending them."
It was noted that the Maduro operation "reflects the unwavering commitment of the U.S. Department of Justice to accountability, the rule of law, and the protection of U.S. national security."
