The US and Iran have agreed to extend the ceasefire as the 60-day period under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding expires next week.

Pakistani government sources said in a statement on Wednesday that the US and Iran have "agreed" to extend the 60-day ceasefire under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, which was set to expire on August 17.
