In Sakarya, during an operation by police teams on a warehouse, a massive amount of engines and vehicle parts, illegally unloaded from customs-sealed TIRs and worth approximately 100 million lira in market value, were seized.

UNLOADED FROM 2 CUSTOMS-SEALED TRUCKS
Under the coordination of the Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, efforts were carried out by teams from the Sakarya Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch Directorate as part of the fight against smuggling. On June 5, 2026, teams obtained information that vehicle parts on two customs-sealed trucks, which were heading to a foreign country for shipment, were being stored in a warehouse in Sakarya with the intent to illegally release them onto the domestic market.
WEIGHING 25 TONS
As a result of the efforts, in an operation conducted on the warehouse, approximately 25 tons and 420 kilograms of various engine parts, 170 hydraulic steering pumps, 115 air pumps, 72 engine blocks and complementary parts, 70 air conditioner motors, 45 starter motors, 20 steering boxes, 4 transmissions, and 1 half-chassis, with a market value of around 100 million lira, were seized.
The seized engine parts were handed over to officials of the Sakarya Customs Enforcement Anti-Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate as part of the investigation. The investigation into the incident continues.
