In a simultaneous drug operation organized by gendarmerie teams at 21 addresses in Denizli, Denizli Bar Association President Ufuk Kök and 11 lawyers were taken into custody. During searches conducted at the bar association building and homes, cannabis greenhouses set up in wardrobes and bathrooms, as well as a large quantity of drugs, were seized. The investigation into the incident, which has caused shock in the legal world, continues.
Denizli woke up to a massive operation that shook the legal community. Within the scope of a drug investigation led by the Denizli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 12 lawyers, including Denizli Bar Association President Ufuk Kök, were detained in a dawn operation carried out by gendarmerie teams. As part of the operation, searches were conducted at the bar building and the lawyers' homes and workplaces with narcotic dogs.
SIMULTANEOUS RAIDS ON 21 ADDRESSES
In the investigation conducted under the scope of "manufacturing, trafficking, and use of narcotic or stimulant substances," gendarmerie narcotics teams initiated action on the morning of June 17, 2026. Simultaneous raids were carried out at 21 predetermined addresses in the districts of Pamukkale and Merkezefendi. The suspects' homes, luxury vehicles, law offices, and rooms at the Denizli Bar Association were thoroughly searched accompanied by sensitive-nosed narcotic detector dogs.
A POT IN THE BATHROOM, HEMP IN THE CLOSET
The details from the search and evidence images shared after the operation caused astonishment. During searches at the addresses, hemp plants hung to dry inside clothing closets, drugs cultivated in pots in bathrooms with special climate control and lighting systems, and cannabis manufacturing apparatuses were seized.
The full list of evidence seized by gendarmerie teams at the addresses was announced as follows:
- 50 grams of cannabis
- 57 synthetic pharmaceutical pills
- 200 grams of hemp seeds
- 2 hemp plants
- 2 cannabis grinding apparatuses
- 1 drug use apparatus
- Various climate control and special cultivation materials
- 1 unlicensed hunting shotgun
