Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Belgrade last month and signed a strategic memorandum of understanding on raw materials, electric vehicles, and battery production. Vucic expressed his happiness and pride on behalf of his country during a press conference following the agreement, which took place within the framework of the Strategic Raw Materials Summit held in Belgrade. Vucic emphasized the importance of the agreement for Europe and Germany, stating, "This is a turning point for us, a significant change, and an important leap towards the future. We didn't even think this was possible." Vucic stated that they will implement everything transparently in their endeavors and added, "In a unique way in our country, we will fight for the preservation of air, soil, and water for the lives of our people where production will take place. We believe that our country will progress economically. This will bring us at least 6 billion euros in new investments. It will be the largest investment ever made in our country." "EXPERTS WILL WORK IN LITHIUM MINES"Serbian leader Vucic stated that experts will work in the lithium mines in his country. Vucic stated that they will not extract lithium without consulting experts from Serbia and different parts of the world, and made the following evaluation: "There is currently no excavation process, and there won't be until we receive guarantees on our behalf, which means no action will be taken in the next 12 to 18 months. They are deceiving you, they are lying to you. We will call the best experts from abroad, but we will also involve the best Serbian experts. Experts will tell us whether people will be safe or not." "OUR PEOPLE SHOULD NOT WORRY"Serbian leader Vucic also stated that he was warned by Russian intelligence about the possibility of a coup in the country with the support of Western powers. Vucic said, "We received official information from Russia. We are dealing with it. The Serbian Security Information Agency (BIA) and specialized individuals are doing their job. Those who dream of doing something, they cannot. Serbia is progressing, they cannot stop it and they will not be able to. This is my message to everyone. People should not worry or be anxious."
