Following the assassination attempt claims against Sırrı Süreyya Önder, similar allegations have emerged regarding Pervin Buldan, a member of the İmralı delegation. In a statement on the matter, DEM Party spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan said, "There are claims that she had an accident in Rome, Italy. Yes, it is true that there was an accident, but it was not considered an assassination attempt. It occurred due to our colleague driving the wrong way."
DEM Party confirmed the allegations that a assassination device was placed in the vehicle of the late Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder a week before his death, leading to claims of an assassination attempt against another member of the İmralı delegation, Pervin Buldan.
"IT IS TRUE THAT IT WAS AN ACCIDENT, BUT..."
The first statement from the DEM Party, which has been under scrutiny regarding the issue, has been made. DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan stated that the allegations of an assassination attempt do not reflect the truth, saying, "There is a claim that he had an accident in Rome, Italy. Yes, it is true that it was an accident, but it was not evaluated as an assassination attempt. It occurred because our friend who was driving the vehicle took a wrong turn. It would not be correct to draw another conclusion from this," she said.
THE ALLEGATION WAS BROUGHT TO THE AGENDA BY BARİŞ YARKADAŞ
Journalist Barış Yarkadaş shared a striking allegation regarding DEM Party member Pervin Buldan on the TGRT News program with Gürkan Hacır, stating, "Tomorrow, Turkey will discuss another issue," and claimed that Buldan had a suspicious traffic accident during her visit to Italy on April 11.
SHE WAS DIRECTED TO A DIFFERENT STREET
According to the allegation; Buldan's vehicle was directed to a different street from the route it was supposed to take, and at that moment, a vehicle coming from the opposite direction collided with Buldan's car. This incident was evaluated as a development that strengthens the allegations of an assassination attempt.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On May 3, DEM Party made a statement regarding the assassination allegations against Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who passed away. It was reported that during an inspection conducted after a sound was heard from the tires of Önder's vehicle on April 2, a sharp device made of iron was found to have been placed in the vehicle.
In the statement made by DEM Party regarding the assassination allegation against Önder, the following expressions were included: "It has become necessary to make a statement regarding the news in some media outlets about an assassination attempt on our late Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who is a member of the İmralı Delegation.
On April 2, the parking attendant suspected the sound coming from the tires while using Sırrı Süreyya Önder's vehicle and took the vehicle to service. During the inspection, it was determined that a sharp device made of iron, which could puncture the left rear tire of the vehicle, had been placed. Önder brought this incident to the party's committees, and necessary inspections and evaluations were made. The incident and related evidence have been submitted to the official authorities. Both our party and Mr. Önder have closely followed the issue. Due to the sensitivity of the investigation, the matter has not been reflected to the public. We have not yet been provided with a clear result regarding the ongoing investigation and inspection."
