The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a travel warning to citizens due to the deteriorating security conditions in Sudan. In a statement made by the ministry, it was reminded that the Travel and Security Announcement dated December 27, 2023, regarding Sudan is still in effect, and citizens are advised not to travel to this country unless absolutely necessary.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on Turkish citizens currently in Sudan to be cautious and vigilant through a post on its social media account.
LEAVE THE COUNTRY
In the statement, it was advised that citizens who are not required to stay in the country should leave quickly and safely via limited commercial flights from Port Sudan or by land and sea routes, depending on their location. Citizens were asked to follow developments through the official websites and social media accounts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Turkey's Embassy in Khartoum.

It was reported that for emergencies, communication can be established through the Khartoum Embassy's hotline at +249 90 094 2738 and the Ministry's Consular Call Center at +90 312 292 29 29.
ATTACKS CONTINUE IN PORT SUDAN FOR 5 DAYS
Since April 15, 2023, clashes have been occurring between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan.
Port Sudan, which is the temporary capital of Sudan, has been subjected to consecutive drone attacks for 5 days, resulting in fires and explosions.
The Sudanese government holds the RSF and the United Arab Emirates, which it claims supports them, responsible for these attacks.
