The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has launched an investigation regarding the discharge of wastewater into the sea in Istanbul. In a post made on the ministry's social media account, it was stated that a report was received regarding the discharge of wastewater into the sea in front of Kuleli Military High School. WHAT HAPPENED?Due to the rain, sewage water flowed into the sea at the beach on Kuleli Street in the Çengelköy neighborhood. Environmental pollution occurred at the point where the water flowed into the Istanbul Strait. The sea surface turned brown where the sewage water was discharged. "NOTHING IS BEING DONE"Local resident Yücel Kalyoncu expressed their complaints about the situation, stating: "We say it needs to be done. They say it has been done, but it is not enough. The same filth keeps coming here. It overflowed a month ago, and everyone complained again. It smelled terrible here. Our friends made a complaint. They come, look. They come on days when there is no problem. If they came when it flooded, when there were heavy rains, they would understand how it is."
