Wide-scale operations against terrorist organizations were carried out ahead of the NATO Summit to be held in Ankara. Items seized from suspects' homes in the raids, where 208 people were detained, drew attention. Weapons, pump-action shotguns, machetes, cleavers, numerous rounds of ammunition, as well as banners and posters believed to be used in organizational activities, were confiscated.
A large-scale operation was carried out in Ankara under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office ahead of the NATO Summit to be held on July 7-8. Within the scope of efforts to expose the activities of terrorist organizations, a comprehensive operation was conducted.
18 separate investigation files targeting different terrorist organizations were consolidated into a single operation plan. The operations were carried out simultaneously by the Ankara Provincial Police Department Counter-Terrorism Branch Directorate and the Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie Command Counter-Terrorism Branch Directorate teams.
DETENTION ORDER FOR 241 SUSPECTS
Within the scope of the investigations, a total of 148 suspects were identified, including 30 members of the DEAŞ terrorist organization, 23 members of the DSİH terrorist organization, 22 members of the TKP/ML terrorist organization, 20 members of the TKİP terrorist organization, 16 members of the MLKP terrorist organization, 16 members of the DKP/BÖG terrorist organization, 12 members of the DHKP/C terrorist organization, and 9 members of the THKP/C terrorist organization.
As a result of the work carried out by the Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie Command Counter-Terrorism Branch Directorate, a total of 93 suspects were identified, including 44 members of the TKP/ML terrorist organization, 26 members of the DAEŞ terrorist organization, and 23 suspects linked to the DHKP-C and MLKP terrorist organizations.
As a result of the investigations, detention orders were issued for a total of 241 suspects deemed to be connected to terrorist organizations.
It was reported that 208 suspects were caught and detained during the operations, while one of the individuals subjected to proceedings died in the hospital after a clash.

During searches at the addresses of the suspects, banners, posters, and various materials believed to be used in organizational activities were seized. Additionally, weapons, pump-action shotguns, machetes, cleavers, and a large amount of ammunition were confiscated in the operations.
OPERATIONS CONTINUE
Authorities stated that efforts to capture the other suspects for whom detention orders have been issued are ongoing. It was noted that the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is conducting the investigation thoroughly and from multiple angles.
