Havva Pınar D., a 24-year-old woman living in Istanbul, had her back broken with a baseball bat by her husband for smoking. Due to the increasing violence, the woman divorced her husband, but was then attacked with a gun after leaving the police station where she filed a complaint. The unfortunate woman, whose life has been shattered, pleaded for help from authorities, stating that she has been unable to see her 2-year-old child in any way.
In Istanbul Sultangazi, 24-year-old Havva Pınar D. divorced Oğuzhan K., who had been violent throughout their relationship. However, Havva Pınar D. continued to receive threats and was subjected to an armed attack by her ex-husband. Havva Pınar D. described her horror, saying, "He took me to Şamlar Forest. He tied my hands behind my back. He broke my waist with a baseball bat. He took me to the hospital that evening. He told the people there that I fell off an ATV, but he repeatedly hit my waist with a baseball bat."
UNABLE TO ESCAPE AFTER DIVORCE 24-year-old Havva Pınar D. met 27-year-old Oğuzhan K. about 4 years ago and they got married in 2021. Allegedly, Havva Pınar D. suffered violence from Oğuzhan K. throughout their relationship and 8-month marriage. Havva Pınar D. left the house several times but returned due to threats. Havva Pınar D. decided to divorce due to the increasing severity of the violence. However, even after the divorce, Oğuzhan K. continued to threaten her. According to allegations, last year Oğuzhan K. shot Havva Pınar D.'s brother with a gun and continued with the threats.
Most recently, Oğuzhan K. attacked Havva Pınar D. and her family with a gun as they were leaving the police station to go home. Fortunately, no one was hit by the bullets, and the attacker fled the scene. The police have initiated an operation to apprehend Oğuzhan K.
"HE BROKE MY WAIST WHEN HE SMELLED CIGARETTE ON ME" Havva Pınar D., who described the events, said, "I used to smoke cigarettes before. He didn't want me to smoke. I used to smoke when I was at home without him. One day, he smelled cigarette on me. When he smelled cigarette on me, he took me to Şamlar Forest. He tied my hands behind my back. He broke my waist with a baseball bat. He took me to the hospital that evening. He told the people there that I fell off an ATV, but he hit my waist with a baseball bat multiple times."
SHOT HER BROTHER WITH A GUN Havva Pınar D., who said that her family and siblings received threatening messages, had to return to her ex-husband due to being threatened even after the divorce. Havva Pınar D. said, "Violence and insults continued, so I returned to my family. After I returned, my brother was shot with a gun. After shooting my brother, he started threatening me and my brother. He also threatens to kill me. No woman deserves this. We cannot make our voices heard in any way. We want our voices to be heard. I want these individuals to be apprehended as soon as possible."
"I CAN'T GO OUT, I'M AFRAID" Havva Pınar D., who stated that she cannot see her child, said, "I am being tested with my two-year-old child. He doesn't show my child to me in any way. I haven't heard my child's voice for about four weeks. I don't know how they are doing. I want to take my child as soon as possible and I want that person to be apprehended. I am calling out to everyone, don't give in. These people should not be protected; it is happening to women and children here. I want them to be apprehended as soon as possible. Last week, we went to the police station to file a complaint. He kept calling me while we were going to the police station. My mother gave her statement. He passed by us after we left the police station. Then he opened fire from the opposite side. He had already called me while passing by and threatened to kill me. He said, 'You won't get away with what you've done. You won't be able to walk around freely.' But he is freely walking around. I can't do anything. I want the state to do this. I don't want this person to walk around freely. I am even nervous while making this statement. I can't go out, I'm afraid," she pleaded for help.
