The drop in anchovy prices to 70 lira in Ordu has brought joy to the citizens. One happy citizen, delighted by the price, even ate raw anchovies out of joy.

The fish catching season, which started on September 1 in Turkey, continues with an abundance of anchovies and sprats. The price of anchovies, which reached up to 300 lira at the beginning of the season, has decreased to 100 lira and then to as low as 70 lira at some fishmongers due to the increasing catch amount.
With the drop in anchovy prices, long queues formed in front of the stalls. Citizens stated that it is the perfect season for anchovies and that they should be consumed abundantly.

Fishmonger Faruk Arslantürk stated that they lowered the prices so that citizens could consume more anchovies, saying, "Right now, there is an abundance of anchovies in the Black Sea. The demand is very good, other varieties are few, but anchovies are plenty. It is attractive to people; it was 100 lira two days ago, now it is 70 lira. Now there are people buying 1.5 kilos instead of 1 kilo."

A citizen named Enver Sağlam expressed great happiness over the drop in anchovy prices, saying, "I occasionally eat raw anchovies, but this time I bought them raw out of joy. People should eat it whenever they get the chance; just like we eat other vegetables and fruits raw, we should eat this too."
"NOW IS THE TIME"
Citizen Nurten Yılmaz stated that they regularly consume anchovies every week, while Bahtiyar Kaymak mentioned that anchovies are currently at the best prices, that they won't drop any lower, and that they continue to consume them every day.
