The YKS results, which millions of students have been waiting for, have been announced. Ahmet Eren Özyurtseven from Gaziantep ranked first in both the TYT and AYT mathematics sections. In the AYT verbal and equal weight sections, the first place was taken by Muhammed İsmail Kuşat from Bursa. In the YDT, Elif Yılmaz ranked first in German, Arda Eren Kartal in French, Mehmet Sarak in English, Ediz Doğan Karakoç in Russian, and Abdulvahab Burro in Arabic.

The exciting wait that began after the completion of the 2025 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) has come to an end today. The results of the YKS, which more than 2.5 million candidates applied for, have been announced. Candidates will be able to access their exam results through ÖSYM's "https://ykssonuc.osym.gov.tr" address, while preference procedures will be carried out between July 30 and August 11.
HERE ARE THE YKS CHAMPIONS
ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy announced the YKS champions in a written statement regarding the 2025-YKS results. Accordingly, the first place winners of the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), Field Proficiency Tests (AYT), and Foreign Language Tests (YDT) are as follows:
- TYT and AYT numerical first place: Gaziantep- Nizip Science High School - Ahmet Eren Özyurtseven,
- AYT verbal and equal weight first place: Bursa - Private Tan Science High School - Muhammed İsmail Kuşat,
- YDT Arabic first place: Bursa- Tofaş Science High School - Abdulvahab Burro,
- YDT German first place: Istanbul - Istanbul Male High School - Elif Yılmaz,
- YDT French first place: Istanbul - Galatasaray University Galatasaray High School - Arda Eren Kartal,
- YDT Russian first place: Istanbul - Haydarpaşa High School - Ediz Doğan Karakoç,
- YDT English first place: Izmir - Private Izmir Bahçeşehir College 50th Year Science and Technology High School - Mehmet Sarak.
THE PARTICIPATION RATE OF FEMALE CANDIDATES WAS HIGHER THAN MALE CANDIDATES
Bayram Ali Ersoy pointed out that out of 2 million 560 thousand 649 candidates who applied for TYT, 2 million 351 thousand 641 participated in the exam, while 209 thousand 8 candidates did not take the exam. He also noted that out of 1 million 721 thousand 57 candidates who applied for AYT, 1 million 549 thousand 940 candidates participated in the exam, while 171 thousand 117 candidates did not take the exam.
In YDT, he highlighted that out of 215 thousand 451 candidates who applied for the exam, 156 thousand 40 participated, while 59 thousand 411 candidates did not take the exam, and continued:
"Of the male candidates who applied for TYT, 90.19% participated, while 93.26% of the female candidates who applied for TYT participated. Among the male candidates who applied for AYT, 87.48% participated, while 92.12% of the female candidates who applied for AYT participated. Additionally, 66.11% of the male candidates who applied for YDT participated, while 76.86% of the female candidates who applied for YDT participated. In all tests, the participation rate of female candidates was higher than that of male candidates."
NO QUESTIONS WERE CANCELED
Ersoy reported that a total of 680 questions were asked in the three sessions of the 2025-YKS tests, and there were no canceled questions.
Sharing the average number of correct answers for the sessions, Ersoy stated:
"In TYT, the average number of correct answers for high school final year students was 21.707 in the Turkish (40 questions) test, 9.722 in the social sciences (20 questions) test, 6.648 in the basic mathematics (40 questions) test, and 4.606 in the science (20 questions) test. The average for the AYT mathematics (40 questions) test was 6.859, while the averages for the AYT science tests were 2.512 in the physics (14 questions) sub-test, 1.846 in the chemistry (13 questions) sub-test, and 2.581 in the biology (13 questions) sub-test. The averages for the AYT Turkish Language and Literature-Social Sciences-1 test were 6.38 in the Turkish language and literature (24 questions) sub-test, 2.083 in the history-1 (10 questions) sub-test, 1.313 in the geography-1 (6 questions) sub-test, and the averages for the AYT social sciences-2 test were 1.266 in the history-2 (11 questions) sub-test, 2.472 in the geography-2 (11 questions) sub-test, 1.709 in the philosophy group (12 questions) sub-test, and 1.377 in the (DKAB) religious culture and ethics knowledge/extra philosophy group (6 questions) sub-test. The averages for YDT were 41.484 in the German test, 30.858 in the Arabic test, 44.557 in the French test, 34.743 in the English test, and 51.472 in the Russian test."
