In a statement following the Cabinet meeting, President Erdoğan, who reacted to the CHP in light of the street incidents, said, "They have no problem with acid being thrown at the police or being attacked with axes. They have no issue with the courtyards of our historic mosques being turned into taverns. But distributing cotton candy bothers them." At that moment, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya's repeated nodding drew attention.
President Erdoğan, in a statement following the Cabinet meeting, launched a fierce attack on the CHP with venomous words. Blaming the CHP for the protests surrounding Ekrem İmamoğlu, President Erdoğan stated that the responsibility for what is happening in the streets lies with the CHP's General Chairman, Özgür Özel.
ERDOĞAN'S HARSH WORDS FOR CHP
Erdoğan used the following expressions: "You see that paying our police's salary is being criticized by the main opposition actors as an issue of giving cotton candy to children. Those who embrace street terrorists are making a fuss about the police offering cotton candy to children.
"DISTRIBUTION OF COTTON CANDY IS DISTURBING"
Until yesterday, those who begged for votes from city to city shamelessly make a fuss over cotton candy. They have no problem with throwing acid at the police or attacking with axes. They have no issue with the looting of the nation's property. They have no problem with turning the courtyards of our historical mosques into taverns. But the distribution of cotton candy is disturbing."
YERLİKAYA'S ATTENTION-GRABBING MOVEMENT
While President Erdoğan was criticizing the opposition, the reaction of Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya drew attention. It was observed that Yerlikaya frequently nodded his head during those moments.
