The snowfall that was effective in mid-spring in Sarıkamış district of Kars once again covered the region in white. While the snow depth exceeded 15 centimeters in the district center, the surprise precipitation that came as the end of April approached caught citizens unprepared.
With the sudden drop in air temperatures, snowfall that began increased its effect from the night hours. In Sarıkamış, trees, vehicles, and roofs were covered with snow, creating postcard-like views across the district.
Due to heavy snowfall, transportation in the district center and surrounding village roads experienced occasional disruptions. While highway and municipality teams continued their efforts to keep the roads open, drivers were warned to be cautious.

Residents of Sarıkamış stated that the snowfall in April was surprising, but they were accustomed to such weather conditions due to the region's harsh climate. Citizens said, "We are nearing the end of April. However, snowfall continues in Sarıkamış. Today, there is heavy snowfall. Just as summer was coming, winter returned to Sarıkamış; everywhere turned white. Winter has come back to Sarıkamış."
Meanwhile, it was reported that the cold wave affecting the region could last for a few more days, and precautions should be taken against frost and icing. While snowfall delays spring conditions in Sarıkamış, it is wondered how the weather will develop in the coming days.
