In her statement on her social media account, Yeşilmen, who argued that people go too far when it comes to slimming, addressed both celebrities and those she believes wear themselves out for the sake of losing weight with harsh words.

Yeliz Yeşilmen, stating that she is disturbed by the slimming mentality that she thinks has become increasingly widespread recently, said, "This weight-loss obsession, this weight-loss madness really makes me sick now."
Emphasizing that her words did not target a specific person, Yeşilmen stated that she was reacting to the excessive slimming trend in general.

Criticizing the physical changes undergone for the sake of slimming, the celebrity said that people liked their former appearances more.
Yeşilmen expressed her reaction with the words, "What is this weight-loss ambition? Have a little self-confidence. I think the old look was nicer. I really feel very sorry."

Yeliz Yeşilmen had previously made statements about the slim appearance of singer Gülşen. After Gülşen was spotted in a market, Yeşilmen evaluated her physical appearance and said that she liked the artist more in her stage appearance.
