Ilker Canikligil, who called for "Order 66 (mass extermination)" against the group he referred to as the "underclass" in a program on YouTube, was arrested by the court he was brought before and sent to prison.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an ex officio investigation against director and YouTube broadcaster İlker Canikligil for calling for a 'massacre' against a group he referred to as 'lower class' in a video content and for a post he made on his social media account.
ARREST WARRANT FOR ILKER CANIKLIGIL
Canikligil was detained on charges of 'publicly inciting to commit a crime' and 'publicly inciting hatred and enmity among the people.' He was arrested by the court to which he was referred.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Canikligil shared a conversation with a taxi driver on his YouTube channel and called for the implementation of 'Execute Order 66' (massacre) against the group he defined as 'lower class,' similar to the Star Wars film series. Canikligil stated: "I’m getting into a taxi now, and there’s someone from the lower class. With a sly grin, he says 'leader' with his tiny mind. I realized that the guy actually hates me. What he’s really saying is; 'You’ve been educated, but my guy will rule you'... So where has that guy brought you? You’re always a taxi driver, what has changed in your life? We need to look at those who voted for him. The only thing I want to say is; 'Execute Order 66.'
Canikligil also shared on his social media account, "My friends, don’t try to explain to these guys for no reason. Political Islam should be disregarded and gradually eliminated. There’s nothing serious about it. That’s all."
