Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that they will continue their attacks on Yemen despite the ceasefire provided by the U.S. with the Houthis. Netanyahu stated, "It would be better if our American friends join us; otherwise, we will defend ourselves."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened that they would continue to target Yemen even if they were left alone, despite the U.S. reaching a ceasefire with the Houthis yesterday.

In a video shared on his social media account, Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel would carry out attacks against the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen even if they were left alone.

THREAT DESPITE THE U.S.

Netanyahu used the expression, "It would be even better if our American friends join the attacks against the Houthis, but if they don't, we will defend ourselves."

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Israeli army had carried out airstrikes on several locations in Yemen, including the Hodeidah Port and Sana'a Airport, earlier this week.

The Tel Aviv administration announced that the attacks were carried out in response to the Houthis targeting Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport with a ballistic missile on May 4.

U.S. AND HOUTHIS REACHED A CEASEFIRE

Oman's Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi announced yesterday that a ceasefire had been established between the U.S. and the Houthis based in Yemen's capital, Sana'a, to end attacks in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the Houthis in Yemen had communicated to them that they no longer wanted to fight, saying, "The Houthis have declared that they no longer want to fight. We will respect that and stop bombing them. They have surrendered, and they say they will no longer blow up ships."

Israeli officials speaking to state television KAN reported that U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement that they would stop bombing the Houthis had a "shock effect" on the Tel Aviv administration.
