A snowmaking system worth 255 million TL is being installed at the ski resort in the Sarıkamış district of Kars. As part of the project, artificial snow with a thickness of 40 centimeters will be provided to 5,500-meter-long slopes using 85 machines. The completion of the works is planned for November 2025.

TENDER WAS MADE FOR 255 MILLION The project, which was tendered on March 8, 2025, for 255 million 889 thousand 200 TL, is expected to be completed by November 24, 2025.
ARTIFICIAL SNOW CAN BE MADE WITH A THICKNESS OF 40 CENTIMETERS With the new system, in addition to the pond that has been started to be installed on an area of 115 thousand square meters, a total of 190 tons of water storage, 3 transformers, 8 mobile fan types, 13 tower fan types, and a total of 85 snow machines will be installed. Thus, artificial snow can be made with a thickness of 40 centimeters on the slopes with a total length of 5,500 meters.
GOVERNOR POLAT: WE WILL ENTER THE SEASON WITH A SPECIFIC DATE Governor Ziya Polat, who examined the works at the Sarıkamış Ski Center, received information from AK Party Kars Deputy Adem Çalkın, Provincial Special Administration Secretary Fatih Tekcan, and company officials. Governor Ziya Polat stated, "Sarıkamış Ski Center is one of the most special and beautiful ski centers in the world. We have hotels in the land of crystal snows, our bed capacity is good, but due to the climate, you know there have been problems with snow in recent years. Thank God, we held the tender for our snowmaking facility 1.5 months ago. By mid-November, we will finish our snowmaking facility, and we will enter the season at the Sarıkamış Ski Center with a specific date. That is the biggest advantage of artificial snow. Pipe installations are being made as part of the works. The machines have arrived. We will finish the 1st and 4th slopes. We also aim to complete the 5th slope. Our 4th and 5th slopes are suitable for both intermediate skiing and professional skiers, and we think we will attract them," he said.
“WE WILL EXTEND THE SKI SEASON IN SARIKAMIŞ” Deputy Adem Çalkın, expressing that dreams have come true at the Sarıkamış Ski Center, said, "This was a dream, and now we have realized this dream. We came here, examined it, and encountered a massive investment. With this project, which will be completed in November, we will extend the ski season in Sarıkamış. We have set a goal to raise the recognition of our ski center in Sarıkamış to a level known worldwide rather than just in Turkey. We are progressing step by step at this stage," he said.
