MYK IS MEETING EXTRAORDINARILY
Following the suspension of the CHP Istanbul provincial administration, the CHP Central Executive Board will hold an extraordinary meeting today at 17:00 under the chairmanship of General Chairman Özgür Özel.
CHP'S STRONG REACTION
The first statement regarding the decision came from CHP Deputy Chairman Gökan Zeybek. Zeybek stated, "We are facing a decision we have not seen in the history of Turkish politics. We have not seen such a scenario even during coup periods. Our Republic is being harmed," he expressed.
"WE STAND TALL WITH OUR 2 MILLION MEMBERS"
In a later statement, Zeybek said, "It is an assault on democratic politics. It is a major blow to the multi-party regime. We are addressing those who want to design the Republican People's Party through judicial means: We will not bow to you," he stated.
The statement emphasized that the CHP stands tall with its 2 million members, stating, "We will overcome all these adversities."
"THE DECISION TO DISMISS IS NULL AND VOID"
Zeybek reminded that Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik was elected by the votes of party members, stating, "Our comrade, our Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik, has been elected by the honorable and honest votes of the CHP. The decision to dismiss is null and void," he announced.
