The Ministry of National Education has published the calendar for the second term of the 2025-2026 academic year. According to the announced program, the second mid-term break in March coincides with the days of Ramadan Feast. Thus, students will have fewer holidays.
The Ministry of National Education has announced the academic calendar, confirming the holiday dates for the second term of schools. The calendar drew attention, especially because the mid-term break in March coincides with the Ramadan Feast.
RAMADAN FEAST COINCIDES WITH THE MID-TERM BREAK
According to the ministry's planning, the second mid-term break will start on Monday, March 16, and end on Friday, March 20. During this period, the Ramadan Feast is also included in the holiday calendar. The eve of the feast falls on Thursday, March 19, while the holiday will continue until Sunday, March 22.
OFFICIAL HOLIDAYS SPREADING INTO THE SECOND TERM
Other official holidays awaiting students in the second term have also been clarified. According to the calendar, April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day falls on a Wednesday, May 1 Labor Day falls on a Friday, and May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day falls on a Tuesday.
SCHOOLS WILL GO ON HOLIDAY ON JUNE 26
As the end of the academic year approaches, the Eid al-Adha holiday will start with the eve on Tuesday, May 26, and end on Saturday, May 30.
Classes in schools will be completed on Friday, June 26. After the academic year, a professional development program for teachers will be implemented between June 29 and July 3.
With the announced calendar, all holiday and working days for the second term have been clarified.
