A frightening military aviation accident occurred in the United States. It was reported that a "F/A-18E Super Hornet" fighter jet belonging to the U.S. Navy crashed into the ocean off the coast of Virginia during a routine training flight.
THE PILOT MANAGED TO EJECT
Navy spokesperson Lieutenant Jackie Parashar stated in a press release that the accident occurred around 09:50, and the pilot who managed to eject was rescued alive and taken to the hospital around 11:20.
THE WRECKAGE OF THE AIRCRAFT HAS NOT BEEN RECOVERED FROM THE SEA
Parashar reported that the downed aircraft was part of the 83rd Strike Fighter Squadron stationed at Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach. It was announced that the wreckage of the aircraft has not yet been recovered from the sea and that an investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
