Israel took the first step towards the massacre after Defense Minister Katz approved the plan for the full occupation of Gaza. Army spokesman Effie Defrin announced that the first phase of the operation named "Gideon's Chariots 2" had begun and that the area surrounding the city of Gaza had been brought under control. Hamas also responded quickly, stating in a statement, "The occupation plan will fail just like the previous ones."
The first step of Israel's operation to occupy Gaza, named "Gideon's Chariots 2," has begun. Israeli Army Spokesman Effie Defrin made statements regarding the first phase of the operation.
Defrin stated that clashes have occurred between the Israeli Army and Hamas forces, and that the area surrounding the city of Gaza has been brought under control. A map was shared regarding the development of the operation.
NETANYAHU ORDERS THE OCCUPATION TO BE COMPLETED SOON On the other hand, statements have come from the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel regarding new decisions made by Benjamin Netanyahu. It was reported that Netanyahu ordered the army to complete the operation aimed at defeating Hamas in a shorter time than planned.
HAMAS: ATTACKS WILL BE AS UNSUCCESSFUL AS BEFORE Hamas announced that the attacks launched for the occupation of the city of Gaza, named "Gideon's Chariots 2," will also be unsuccessful like the previous ones. The statement indicated that this plan represents a continuation of the genocide that has been ongoing in the Gaza Strip for over 22 months and disregards the efforts of mediators for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange.
The statement emphasized that at a time when Hamas accepted the ceasefire proposal presented by mediators, the Israeli government insisted on continuing its brutal war against innocent civilians with the aim of destroying the city of Gaza and driving its people south. It was noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's disregard for the mediators' proposal and failure to respond shows that "he is the one who breaks the agreements, does not care about the lives of the prisoners, and is not serious about retrieving them."
"The plan to occupy Gaza will fail like the previous ones. Israel will not be able to achieve the targets set for this plan, and the occupation of Gaza cannot be treated as a 'fun outing,'" the statement said, calling on mediators to exert maximum pressure on Israel to stop the genocide against the Palestinian people.
Israel announced that the area surrounding the city of Gaza is under control as part of the operation.
60,000 RESERVE SOLDIERS TO BE CALLED UP Israeli Defense Minister Katz recently held a meeting with Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and senior security officials, approving the plan for the occupation of Gaza. With the approved occupation plan, 60,000 reserve soldiers are expected to be called up.
1 MILLION PALESTINIANS TO BE DISPLACED As part of the Israeli occupation plan, preparations are being made to displace approximately 1 million Palestinians to the south. After this first phase of the plan, the city of Gaza will be completely taken over. In the second phase, the refugee camps in the center of Gaza will be targeted.
CEASEFIRE TALKS CONTINUE While Israel prepares to occupy Gaza, the pressure from mediators for a ceasefire is also increasing. Israeli Minister of Internal Affairs Ron Dermer met with Qatari officials as part of the ceasefire talks. The meeting took place in Paris, the capital of France.
In another aspect of ceasefire diplomacy, the Egyptian Foreign Minister Bedir Abdülati spoke on the phone with the U.S. Special Representative for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff. The discussion included a proposal prepared in line with the suggestion previously made by Witkoff and accepted by Hamas. The Egyptian minister called on Israel, indicating that the proposal is a good opportunity for ending the war.
