The Istanbul Governorship has made a new decision regarding the stands set up for children with SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) following complaints and reports received. The governorship announced that audio SMA stands will not be allowed at metro entrances and exits, public transportation stops and stations, as well as on bridges, stops, and stations.
A new decision has been made regarding the stands set up for children with SMA in Istanbul. The stands established for covering the treatment costs of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) could be opened with the permission of the governorship.
"LOUD FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED"
The Istanbul Governorship reported that, following complaints and notifications received, a study revealed that family members, relatives, and friends without a fundraising permit were operating in these stands to reach large audiences. The governorship also stated that it was determined that announcements were made continuously and loudly. In a new decision regarding these stands, the governorship announced, "No loud fundraising activities will be allowed in our province under any circumstances."
"ALL STANDS WILL BE REMOVED"
The governorship announced that all stands would be removed from metro entrances and exits, under and overpasses of bridges, public transport stops and stations, streets, avenues, markets, and squares, as well as crowded places that obstruct pedestrian passage and traffic flow, and locations that could create security vulnerabilities.
In the statement, it was said, "In this context, inspections will be intensified by authorized units, primarily law enforcement/municipal police units, and if those acting contrary to the regulations are identified during inspections, actions will be taken in accordance with the relevant legal provisions."
