Iran's Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzade stated that in the event of a U.S. attack on the country, it would target U.S. bases in the region. Nasirzade said, "This issue has nothing to do with Iran. We advise the U.S. not to attempt to create a crisis in the region because Iran is not responsible for the American aircraft falling from the ship in the Red Sea."

Iran's Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzade stated that they would target U.S. bases and interests in the region in the event of any attack on the country.

Speaking to Iranian state television, Nasirzade responded to U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's military attack threats against Iran due to support for the Houthis in Yemen. Nasirzade, who argued that the Houthis in Yemen are independent and make their own decisions, said, "This issue has nothing to do with Iran. We advise the U.S. not to try to create a crisis in the region because Iran is not responsible for the American aircraft falling from the ship in the Red Sea."

Nasirzade, who stated that Iran has not initiated and will not initiate a war, said, "If there is an attack on Iran or if war is declared, we will respond strongly. If this war originates from the U.S. or the Zionist regime (Israel), Iran will attack their interests, bases, and forces."

"U.S. BASES WILL BE OUR TARGET"

The Iranian minister, who stated that his country considers its neighboring countries as friends, said, "We have no hostility with neighboring countries, and brotherhood prevails among us; however, in the event of an attack on Iran, the American bases in the countries of the region will be our target."

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth had stated in a message shared on May 1 on X account titled "Message to Iran," "We see your lethal support for the Houthis. You know exactly what you are doing. You know very well what the U.S. military is capable of, and you have been warned. You will pay the price at a time and place of our choosing."

Following Hegseth's threat, it was announced on May 3 that the talks between the two countries scheduled to take place in Rome had been postponed. Iran announced that the talks were postponed for "logistical reasons."
