The two leaders have arrived in Alaska, where the summit is set to take place. It has been learned that the summit will be held at Elmendorf–Richardson Base in Anchorage, Alaska; Kremlin Spokesman Dmitriy Peskov stated that the summit will take place on an airplane.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitriy Peskov stated that the discussions between the leaders could last a total of 6-7 hours. Peskov mentioned that aides would also participate in the one-on-one meeting and expressed their expectation for a positive outcome from the discussions.

"I WANT TO SEE A CEASEFIRE"
Hours before the meeting, Trump commented on the U.S.-Russia summit to be held in Alaska today in an interview with Fox News. Trump stated that he was on his way to meet with Putin and believed that the meeting would go well.
Evaluating the possibility of a disagreement during the meeting, Trump said, "If things don't go well, I will quickly return home. I will leave. I want to see a ceasefire; I won't be happy if I don't see it today. If our meeting with Putin doesn't go well, I will walk away," he stated.
PUTIN WILL BE THE FIRST RUSSIAN LEADER TO VISIT ALASKA
Although past U.S. visits were made by Soviet leaders Nikita Khrushchev, Leonid Brezhnev, Mikhail Gorbachev, as well as Boris Yeltsin and Dmitriy Medvedev from Russia, Putin will go down in history as the first Russian leader to visit Alaska. Putin's visit to New York in 2015 to attend the United Nations (UN) General Assembly is considered his last visit to the U.S.
