Search efforts are ongoing at full speed to find 43-year-old Huriye Helvacı and her 5-year-old son Osman Helvacı, who have been missing since November 2 in the Bozkurt district of Kastamonu.
SIMULTANEOUS SEARCH IN 19 VILLAGES
Teams from AFAD, UMKE, Kastamonu Police Department, Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK), and commando units are conducting searches in 19 villages in the area, primarily in Alantepe and Köseali villages, where the mother and son were last seen. Despite challenging weather conditions and rugged terrain, teams continue their investigations from the early hours of the morning until late at night.
THERMAL DRONES AND SEARCH DOGS ARE BEING USED
Teams are heavily utilizing technology in their extensive search efforts. The area is being scanned from the air and ground with thermal drones, search and rescue dogs, and Akıncı UAV support. The Artificial Intelligence Image Analysis Team, Gendarmerie Crime Investigation (JASAT) Team, and Police Intelligence and Crime Investigation Teams are also participating in the investigations.
SEARCHES ARE BEING CONDUCTED HOUSE BY HOUSE
JAK, AFAD, UMKE, and commando teams are trying to find any clues by checking every house in the villages one by one. Additionally, forested areas, riverbeds, and abandoned structures are being carefully searched.
HUNTERS HAVE ALSO ENTERED THE FIELD
Levent Albayrak, the Special News Director of Tv100, who is following the activities in the region, provided information about the latest situation.
Albayrak stated, "Today, there was actually a very different development," and added, "For the first time, hunters participated in the search efforts as of today. Hunting clubs have come to the area. They know the forest very well, they have been hunting here continuously, and they know where the caves are, where there are places to hide, and where predators might be, which is why they participated in today's efforts."
"THERE ARE 3 SCENARIOS BEING CONSIDERED"
Albayrak expressed that there are three scenarios, stating, "Actually, there are three scenarios. If Huriye Helvacı wanted to escape after leaving home, which is a low probability based on the information she provided to her family and the findings of the police and security forces. Because if she wanted to escape, they say she would have turned off her phone immediately. The second is that when she set out, she had few belongings and little money. So this is considered a low probability. One of the other two possibilities is that after coming to this area, it got dark. She wanted to return to the village, to her home. However, due to the darkness and being late, it was thought that she might have taken a shortcut and entered the forest. And here she lost her way and got lost in the forest. The third scenario, which everyone fears, is that while moving through the forest, she encountered predators. The possibility of predators harming her is one of the scenarios. Among these possibilities, as we mentioned, the most considered scenario is that after Huriye Helvacı moved a bit further, she wanted to return home, lost her way due to the darkness, and after entering the forest, she lost her route and could not find her way back."
