After the release of footage allegedly showing a rat roaming in the public bread factory belonging to the Merkezefendi Municipality in Denizli, an inspection was conducted. Following the inspection, the operations of the bread factory were halted due to non-compliance with hygiene regulations.

The teams of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry went to the bakery in Bozburun District after images allegedly showing rats roaming around were shared on social media late at night.
DEAD RATS, MOLDY RADIATORS...
During the inspections conducted inside the factory, a dead rat was found on the floor, and it was observed that the radiators were moldy. Officials conducted inspections and hygiene checks in the area where the dough mixing machine is located and in other sections. A report was prepared regarding the factory in accordance with the relevant articles of the Veterinary Services, Plant Health, and Food and Feed Law No. 5996.
OPERATIONS OF THE BREAD FACTORY SUSPENDED
As a result of the team's inspection, it was learned that general hygiene rules were not followed in the bread production factory. It was stated that an official letter was delivered to the relevant managers of the business and that after determining that the factory posed a risk to human health and food safety, it was decided to suspend all operations until the deficiencies were addressed.
Meanwhile, the administrative sanction process is ongoing.
