As temperatures continue to drop across the country, the General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a yellow code warning for 24 provinces. While snowfall is affecting many cities, the timing of when snow will fall in Istanbul has become a topic of curiosity. Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen stated, "Snow will not fall in Istanbul before the New Year. Snowfall in Istanbul will continue until the spring months. It seems like it will last for a long time. We will have a normal winter."
During the summer months, temperatures were above seasonal norms, and days accompanied by drought troubled the citizens. The sudden drop in temperatures in mid-October brought winter early. Many cities donned a white blanket, and coats and hats were taken out. The meteorology department issued a yellow code warning for 24 cities for tomorrow, while the question of when it will snow in Istanbul became a topic of curiosity.
The Ministry of Interior warned citizens to be careful and cautious due to the expected heavy rain and thunderstorms in some provinces. According to a statement made on the ministry's social account, heavy rain and localized thunderstorms are expected today in the northern parts of Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, and Mardin, as well as in Batman, Bingöl, Muş, Bitlis, and the northern areas of Erzurum, Ağrı, Van, and around Kars.
WARNING OF HEAVY RAIN IN THE EASTERN BLACK SEA
It is predicted that the rain to be seen in the Eastern Black Sea will be locally strong in the east of Trabzon and the northern parts of Rize and Artvin. Additionally, it is expected that the rain and thunderstorms in the Eastern Mediterranean will be locally strong in the areas around Osmaniye, the coastal districts of Hatay, and the eastern part of Adana.
YELLOW CODE WARNING FOR 24 CITIES
The General Directorate of Meteorology stated that heavy rain, storms, and snowfall are expected in 24 cities and issued a yellow code warning. Residents of these provinces were advised to be cautious against sudden flooding, strong storms, and snowfall.

After the sharp drop in temperatures, snowfall has been effective in many cities. Millions of citizens are curious about the answer to the question, "When will it snow in Istanbul?" Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen, who spoke to CNN Türk, answered the question on everyone's mind.
First addressing the current situation across the country, Şen said, "Rainfall will decrease throughout the country in the new week. There are heavy rains in Bitlis, Muş, Mardin, and Diyarbakır. This evening, the rain may turn into a flood. Temperatures have started to drop in Central Anatolia and Eastern Anatolia. Snowfall may be seen today and tomorrow around noon. We may see it in the regions of Sivas, Van, Bitlis, Erzurum, and Erzincan. Snowfall began in many cities last night. The snowfall may increase a bit more," he said.

Later, addressing the megacity, Orhan Şen stated: "It won't snow in Istanbul before the New Year. Snowfall in Istanbul will continue until the spring months. It seems like it will last a long time. We will have a normal winter. That is, there will be rainfall and there will be snow."
