It was reported that Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç and the accompanying executives reacted strongly to the president of the Fenerbahçe Volunteers Association, Emrah Tunay, regarding the collection of signatures at the association. However, Fenerbahçe Club denied the allegations regarding Ali Koç's visit to Fenerbahçe.
The President of the Fenerbahçe Volunteers Association, Emre Tünay, had claimed that the president of the yellow-navy blue club, Ali Koç, threatened him by coming to the association. A statement regarding the allegation has come from Fenerbahçe Club.
"THE VISIT WAS CARRIED OUT IN A CALM AND TRANSPARENT MANNER"
In the statement made by Fenerbahçe, it was said, "Due to the manipulative statement made by Emrah Tünay, the President of the Fenerbahçe Volunteers Association, it has become necessary to inform the public again. The visit of our esteemed President took place in a very calm, open, and transparent manner, without giving any opportunity for provocation."
Here is the statement made by Fenerbahçe;
"We had made a statement last night after the visit of our President Mr. Ali Y. Koç and our executives to the Fenerbahçe Volunteers Association, which is located across from our stadium, was reflected to the public as a 'raid.'
However, today, it has become necessary to inform the public again due to the manipulative statement made by Emrah Tünay, the President of the Fenerbahçe Volunteers Association, regarding the matter.
First of all, we would like to state that these allegations aimed at misleading the public and targeting our Club President have no relation to the truth.
The visit of our esteemed President took place in a very calm, open, and transparent manner, without giving any opportunity for provocation. During the visit, no negative incidents occurred, and even Emrah Tünay and the executives accompanying him escorted our President to the door of the association.
During the visit, information was shared with Emrah Tünay regarding some signatures that needed to be taken in the presence of a notary, which were taken when no notary was available and were later certified. Our President stated that if these allegations were true, it would clearly be an unlawful act, and if identified, both the relevant notary and the individuals facilitating this would have to account before the law.
According to the information received by our club and shared with the Istanbul Police Department, serious intelligence has been received that provocative actions were planned in front of the Fenerbahçe Volunteers Association before the match, and there could be attempts to attack some groups preparing to protest our club's management. This information was also shared with Emrah Tünay.
All other allegations brought to the agenda are baseless, unfounded, and do not reflect the truth.
It is extremely ironic, even tragicomic, that an association that has not participated in or supported any process of our club during its term has distorted the visit of our Club President today and emphasized that they have never been visited before. We respectfully announce to the public. Fenerbahçe Sports Club"
WHAT HAPPENED?
The congress discussions continue at full speed, and a striking move came from Fenerbahçe Club President Ali Koç. According to the news on Oda TV; Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç and his companions reacted strongly to the association and the association president Emrah Tunay regarding the collection of signatures at the Fenerbahçe Volunteers Association. It is claimed that Koç shouted at Tunay, "Are you trying to bring me down? What are you trying to do?" while the argument between the parties ended with the intervention of surrounding fans.
THE ALLEGATION THAT "ALI KOÇ THREATENED"
Finally, while the echoes of the incident continue, Emrah Tünay, the Chairman of the Board of the Fenerbahçe Volunteers Association, claimed that Fenerbahçe Club President Ali Koç came to their association last night and threatened him and the association staff.
In a statement on his social media account, Emrah Tünay said, "Last night around 10:20 PM, a very sad event occurred that casts a shadow over club democracy, freedom of expression, and the most fundamental rights of civil society. As is known, for a while, as the Fenerbahçe Volunteers Association, we have been using our right to criticize on behalf of our community with the slogan 'Signature for the Future' for our signature campaign. We invite our valuable congress members to sign for our club to make an extraordinary general assembly decision in accordance with our bylaws and the existing provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey. However, unfortunately; Mr. President Ali Koç came to our association last night with his executive friends Burak Kızılhan and Can Gebetaş, openly threatening me and our association staff, and clearly attacking our rights, which are democratic and defined by our bylaws.
As soon as Mr. Ali Koç entered our center, he asked in an angry tone, "How are the preparations for provocation going for tomorrow?" addressing me as the association president. After introducing myself, we directed to the table to talk. Then, stating "I don't believe in the signatures you collected, fake signatures are being collected," he said, "You are stirring up the community."
After arriving at the table, upon his invitation to a place where the camera could not see, I followed him from behind and we started to talk one-on-one. During our private conversation, Mr. Ali Koç began to share personal information about me and ask questions, trying to create an image of "I have every information about you." Later, he said that if there were major incidents before and during the match to be played today, he would hold me accountable for it, claiming that we were collecting fake signatures. He reacted strongly to the presence of a notary at our association on match day. Then he threatened, "Thank your stars, my presidency doesn't end. If it ends, I will deal with you personally for as long as I breathe."
Mr. Ali Koç has never come to our association during his seven-year presidency, has not participated in any organization of our association, which has many club members, and has not given us ACCREDITATION, nor has he established any warm relations with us. From this perspective, we leave the purpose of Mr. Ali Koç's sudden visit last night, due to our association exercising its democratic rights, to the public's judgment. The incident is not only a clear indication of a repressive mentality but also a scandal that will be noted in the history of Fenerbahçe.
Fenerbahçe SK has been a club that has never bowed to pressure and has defended democratic values throughout its history. We will continue to stand firm against any intervention in these values. We respectfully inform the public that we will initiate the necessary legal processes regarding the incident and that we will fight with all our determination to hold accountable this unjust attack before justice. We will not allow anyone to try to silence the voice of volunteers by using the power of their position. I invite all Fenerbahçeliler to take a calm but determined stance, to take a stand for democracy, and to support the signature campaign."
