Sarp Ataman, the son of Panathinaikos head coach Ergin Ataman, made a post on his social media account following the defeat against Anadolu Efes. Sarp Ataman stated, "The items that I thought I would keep for the rest of my life can now have a peaceful evening in the trash," after the tension his father experienced with Anadolu Efes fans.
In the fourth match of the play-off series of the THY Euroleague, Ergin Ataman's team Panathinaikos AKTOR lost to Anadolu Efes 85-82 away. Panathinaikos Head Coach Ergin Ataman's son, Sarp Ataman, made a striking post on social media following the defeat against Anadolu Efes.
THE SCENE GOT CHAOTIC AT THE END OF THE MATCH
In the final moments of the match, tension arose between the navy-blue and white fans and Panathinaikos Head Coach Ergin Ataman. With 16 seconds left in the game, during a situation where the referees were reviewing a play, the stands chanted, "Ergin Ataman, take a timeout."
Very upset by these chants, Ataman showed the flags representing the championships he won with Anadolu Efes in the THY Euroleague. The experienced head coach did not wait for the end of the match after talking to the referees and went to the locker room.
