Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is expected to depart for the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York City, was protested by hundreds of people at Ben-Gurion Airport.
According to a report by the Walla news site in Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu, who is said to be heading to Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv to attend the United Nations General Assembly, faced protests.
HUNDREDS PROTESTED
Hundreds of Israelis gathered at the airport, demanding Prime Minister Netanyahu to immediately stop the attacks on the Gaza Strip and sign a prisoner exchange agreement.
DEMAND FOR NETANYAHU'S ARREST
Several protesters wearing prison jumpsuits were seen holding banners demanding the arrest of Prime Minister Netanyahu, for whom the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in the Gaza Strip.
WILL SPEAK AT THE UN
Netanyahu is expected to depart for the United States at 03:00 local time on Thursday and to give a speech at the UN General Assembly in New York on Friday.
Meanwhile, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that Prime Minister Netanyahu will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday.
